Day Wise Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival At Colombo & Transfer To Nuwara Eliya With Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

Upon your arrival at Colombo International Airport, our representatives will be there to warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer to Nuwara Eliya. As we make our way to Nuwara Eliya, we will make a brief stop at the renowned Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a beloved attraction in Sri Lanka. Here, you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the 65 captive elephants who have been rescued from various circumstances. Some of these elephants were orphaned as babies, while others are elderly matriarchs who can no longer survive in the wild or adults that have endured unethical treatment during their captivity.

After leaving the orphanage, our journey continues to the Shri Bhakta Hanuman Temple, which offers a breathtaking view of the Kotmale Valley and serves as a serene spot to relax and appreciate the temple's architecture. Nearby, you will also have the chance to witness the majestic Ramboda Falls, known for its graceful twin cascades that reach a height of approximately 109 meters. A staircase allows you to ascend and admire the falls from above or explore the base of the falls.

Finally, we will proceed to your hotel in Nuwara Eliya, where you can check-in and enjoy a well-deserved rest for the night.

Day 2: Full-day Excursion in Nuwara Eliya

Start your day with a delightful breakfast before embarking on our day tour. Our first stop is the Sita Amman Temple, a Hindu Temple dedicated to Princess Sita, who was mentioned in the epic of Ramayana. According to the legend, Sita was rescued by Rama 5000 years ago, and the temple was built in her honor. Many devotees come here to worship Sita Mata, so it is advised to dress modestly when visiting the temple.

Next, we will visit the Tea Factory and Tea Plantations, where you can explore the plantations and witness the process of making and brewing Ceylon Tea.

Located in the heart of Nuwara Eliya is Gregory Lake, which was created in 1873 during the rule of British Governor William Gregory. Today, it serves as a popular lake park for both tourists and locals. You can enjoy a picnic or even take a ride in the swan boats and jet skis.

To conclude the day, take a leisurely stroll around the lake before returning to your hotel in Nuwara Eliya for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer From Nuwara Eliya To Yala Via Ella

We will depart from Nuwara Eliya to Yala after enjoying breakfast at the hotel. Before reaching Yala, we will make a stop in Ella. In Ella, we will visit the magnificent Ravana Waterfall, a wide 82-feet/25m waterfall that flows from a rock outcrop. This waterfall is located within the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary, just 6km away from the Ella Railway Station. According to legend, Princess Sita was hidden in the Ravana Ella Cave behind the waterfall when she was kidnapped by Ravana. The pool formed by the waterfall is also believed to be where Rama's queen bathed. Ella is also famous for attractions such as the Nine Arches Bridge, Little Adam's Peak, and Ravana's Cave. The Nine Arches Bridge, built without steel during the British colonial era in 1921, offers a breathtaking view known as the "Nine Skies" when you look up. Our journey will then continue until we reach Yala. In the evening, we will embark on an exciting safari ride in Yala National Park to encounter leopards in their natural habitat. This vast park includes the Strict Natural Reserve (Block II) and Ruhuna National Park (Block I) within its wildlife sanctuary. Adjacent to Ruhuna is the Kumana National Park, also known as "Yala East." We will have the opportunity to explore Yala National Park through a Jeep Safari in the afternoon, at an additional cost. Yala is home to a variety of protected indigenous species and migrating birds. The lagoons and salt pans in the park attract a concentration of birds, making it a popular spot for birdwatching. Here, you can witness thousands of flamingos, billed pelicans, spoonbills, and many other species. On land, you will also encounter wild buffaloes and elephants, which are commonly seen in the park. After a day of exploring this stunning park, we will head to your hotel in Yala for an overnight stay.

Day 4: Journey from Yala to Bentota via Galle

Begin your day with a delightful breakfast at the hotel in Yala before checking out. Today, we will be traveling to Bentota, making a stop at Galle for some sightseeing.

The main highlight of our tour is the Galle Fort, a remarkable historical structure built during the Dutch colonial period. Completed in 1663, this fortress showcases a unique blend of European architecture and Sri Lankan influence. Recognized as a World Heritage Site in 1988, it holds great cultural significance.

Next, we will embark on a Boat Safari at Madu River, a popular attraction that offers breathtaking views of the expansive Madu Ganga. This serene journey takes you through the enchanting mangrove forest, allowing you to witness the rich biodiversity of the Madu River, which is home to 19 endemic species. With 64 islands, this destination is a paradise for nature enthusiasts and bird watchers. Keep an eye out for rare bird species and reptiles that inhabit this area. You will also have the opportunity to observe traditional fishermen engaging in Stilt Fishing, a unique method where they patiently wait for fish to bite while perched on a crossbar attached to the sea floor.

Afterwards, we will visit the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project, a sanctuary dedicated to the protection and preservation of sea turtles. Since 1981, this area has become renowned for its turtle nesting sites and was established by the Wildlife Protection Society. The project nurtures newborn turtles in large tanks, providing them with nutritious food and a clean environment for a few days. Once they are strong enough, these turtles are released into the wild during the night from the safest area to ensure their survival. The conservation project focuses on five different turtle species, all of which are endangered. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about these magnificent creatures, interact with them, and even hold them in their palms. You can also observe the adorable baby turtles in their tanks.

Finally, we will continue our journey to Bentota, where you will check in to your beachfront hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer from Bentota to Colombo with Colombo City Tour

Start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel in Bentota before checking out. Before we depart, take the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of water sports at the Bentota River. Try out thrilling activities such as jet skiing, banana boating, or even windsurfing before we continue our journey to Colombo.

Upon arrival, we will begin our sightseeing tour of Sri Lanka's busiest city. Our first stop is the Galle Face Green, a magnificent ocean-side park and Colombo's largest seaside promenade. This park is renowned for its stunning sunset views and was originally designed in 1850 as a golf course and horse racing track by Governor Sir Henry George Ward. Over the years, various stories have emerged about its purpose, ranging from a leisure spot for "fair ladies" to a strategic defense location for the Dutch against the Portuguese. Regardless of its history, the park's scenic beauty and lush greenery make it a must-visit destination. Make sure to allocate enough time in your itinerary to fully appreciate the promenade.

Our tour also includes a visit to Viharamahadevi Park, one of the city's largest parks. Formerly known as Victoria Park, it was designed and built by the British prior to Sri Lanka's Independence. This park has hosted events for the British Army before World War II, the 17th Brigade of the Australian Army, and numerous cricket matches. As you enter the park, you will be greeted by a majestic Buddha statue, and further exploration will reveal beautiful water fountains where you can relax. There is also a play area and a zoo where you can enjoy quality time with your children. Additionally, near the park, you will find a small aquarium on the eastern side of the museum, showcasing a variety of rare local fish species.

To conclude the day, head to the Pettah Market for a fulfilling shopping experience. This vibrant place offers a wide range of products, from electronics to local snacks, allowing you to indulge in some retail therapy while exploring the lively atmosphere.
After the tour, we will head to the hotel for check-in. Spend the night at the hotel in Colombo.
